About Dr Paul Holland

Originally from Australia, Paul completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1992. Upon graduation Paul worked for the Department of Corrective Services as a Specialist Educator and Trainer. He then moved to various Sydney Area Health Service positions, again working in the field of Training and Research.

In 1995 Paul relocated to London where he began working as a Research Fellow for the University of Portsmouth. After two years Paul completed additional training in Applied Behaviour Analysis and began working as a Behavioural Therapist. Very quickly Paul moved into Supervisory and eventually Consultancy positions within this field. Paul worked primarily as a Special Education Needs and Behavioural Consultant until 2005. During this time Paul completed his PhD in Psychology specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In 2005 Paul began working at City University London as a Lecturer and later, Senior Lecturer in Psychology. Whilst at City University London Paul held several positions including Professional Components Co-ordinator and Co-Director of the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, BSc Psychology Director, and Research Supervisor. In addition during his time at City, Paul developed, managed and taught on his own programme - Graduate Diploma in Specialist Educational Intervention. During his time at City Paul continued to provide private training and consultancy in the field of special needs, challenging behaviour and Makaton. In addition, in 2008 Paul completed training in Psychological Coaching. Paul has since began providing Coaching to parents of children with special needs and/or challenging behaviour.

In 2010 Paul decided to once again focus predominantly on private training, consultancy and coaching.  Paul is an Expert Writer for Aukids - Positive Parenting for Kids with Autism Spectrum Conditions (http://www.aukids.co.uk) and a regular contributor to SEN Magazine (http://www.senmagazine.co.uk). Paul is also a Regional Tutor for The Makaton Charity.

Recently, Paul has transferred and combined his knowledge of Executive Functioning and Coaching to work with young people as an Executive Function Coach. Paul works as a Coach both privately and with Connections in Mind (http://www.connectionsinmind.co.uk).

As of September 2011 Dr Holland will be providing training, consultancy and coaching services in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Within Australia Paul will be located in Grenfell and Sydney but will happily service all of New South Wales, providing needed specialist input to all areas of the state. Paul will also travel throughout Australia if required.
